A thought provoking taste of the mideast conflict beyond the images you see on the TV, into the hearts and lives of the people involved. Courtesy of Joe Israel Productions.
Courtesy of Rev. Bosco Peters of New Zealand. Perhaps not the most reverent but its an excellent encouragement to review exactly where exactly we come from, as the Christian church.
Why does it seem like we always expect there to be a reason when life, leaders, and situations don’t go our way? How often do we jump to conclusions way to quickly?
An Open Letter To My Fellow Prairie Alumni,
I know these are challenging times for all of us, and I know I am not in Three Hills personally. But the more and more I read about this situation regarding Prairie’s possible move to Drumheller, I am saddened to see that once again the greater Prairie community can’t seem to get past some type of hindrance that is causing upright and Godly people to behave on a scale that reminds me of a extremely poorly run church board meeting.
We all thank God for the process that he has brought us through, during our time at Prairie. But the reality is that we our strangers and pilgrims in a land not our own. Why do we insist on putting down concrete foundations? (Prairie may go this far in my book, and then I will rally a whole host of people to get my way?) Prairie’s leaders may or may not be making the best decisions, but then again when have Prairie’s leaders been guaranteed to make perfect decisions throughout Prairie’s lifetime? God has still blessed her with over an 85 year old run. read more…
God’s moving in Steph’s and my life in ways that are becoming exciting, but at the same time scary. When God moves, only He knows where your headed. Sometimes it helps to be reminded of God’s sense of humor. See below,

For those of you who have been reading this blog for a while and those who are just catching up, you might be wondering why the name “A Pilgrims Confession”? Why is Daniel a pilgrim, and what is he confessing? Isn’t that what Catholics do? I am still firmly a Baptist though I will admit that Eastern Orthodoxy has some interesting points that I believe that many Christians should consider. No actually my inspiration comes from, Hebrews 11, read more…
With credit to Bill Reichart for passing this on, I present to you a mashup of Hebrews and Star Wars.
Yeah I am more of a Star Trek fan myself, but still I wonder sometimes if we consider the scope of God’s love story for mankind.
Life is a funny thing. You think you have it figured out and then suddenly you realize that you have only seen half the picture. Not only that but the picture keeps changing and growing and constantly adding more detail. Not only that but then contemplate the fact that God stands outside of space and time and superintends it all for His glory and majesty. In yet the amazing thing is that He also grants us freewill and enables us to exercise it. read more…
Days as of late have been full with building new friendships, launching a website or two (This one is still a work in progress) and learning about the dynamics of relationships between Christians. Despite the Biblical injunction to love one another as Christ loved the Church its disconcerting to come across one Christian suggesting that He has zero respect for a fellow believer, because of a lack of committal to a certain project or charitable outreach. read more…
